for Test and targeting, the user profile parameters stay forever, but T&amp;T cookie normally expires in a short time

here  are my qestions
1. is 14 days T&amp;T cookie expiration an industry starndard for most companies who use T&amp;T
2. if cookie expires, ca not really do any targeting even with great user profile paremeters. what are the workaround?
3. can you comment a bit more about using evar and prop to to targeting? I am not familiar with that. thank!</description>

		<description>Thanks - absolutely.  There&#039;s a bunch of additional things that you can target through the mbox too.  Custom parameters can also be used, separate from sitecatalyst props, eVars etc, that also play a big part in targeting.</description>
